Introduction to the QSIP2022 Conference

The rapid progress in quantum structure based infrared photodetector (QSIP) technologies, including quantum wells, dots, superlattices, and novel heterostructures, has led to the realization of high performance infrared detectors, large-format focal plane arrays and infrared cameras. The QSIP 2022 postponed from 2020 conference aims to bring together scientists, engineers, industrial collaborators, students, and users to discuss recent advances in this field. The conference will provide an international forum for attendees to present and discuss new progress in device physics, materials growth and processing issues, focal plane array development and characterization, as well as commercialization and applications of QSIP technologies. In addition, the conference will also explore the benefits and drawbacks of these technologies, and clarify their role in the competitive market of thermal imaging technology. The program will include oral presentations, panel discussion and opportunities for informal interactions among conference participants.

The conference will be held in Kraków, Poland at the conference center of Sheraton Grand Hotel (7 Powiśle Street, 31-101 Kraków). Kraków is the magical city located on the banks of the Wisła River, with one of the best-preserved medieval city centers in Europe. The city is enumerated as one of the 12 sites on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The Sheraton Grand Hotel – Kraków is ideally located on the bank of The Wisła River and at the foot of The Royal Wawel Castle, within walking distance to The Old Town and Kazimierz district with all its iconic tourist attractions. The John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice (KRK) is located approx. 10 km of the conference venue. The conference is set for July 10–15, 2022.
